Who is responsible

Sick of Gurus operates the public research desk at sickofgurus.com. For this site we are the data controller. Write to alerts@sickofgurus.com via Contact.

What we process

• If you log in: a personal email, so a watchlist of tickers can follow you to another browser. Not a password account.
• If you Connect a brokerage book: ticker symbols, quantities, and last prices from the file or Flex statement you chose to load. Cash and equity figures if they are on that statement.
• A local processing log on this device: when a book was loaded or deleted, the broker label, and how many names. Never a password, never a Flex token.
• Public company filings and delayed quotes used to score listed names — those are not your personal data.

What we do not take

• Raw broker passwords. There is no password login to a broker on this site.
• Live OAuth tokens. OAuth linking is not live. A Flex web-service token is used once to pull open positions and is not written to disk.
• A full brokerage history, tax lots, or identity documents. The parse is open positions (and a CSV of Symbol and Quantity).
• Selling lists of names or emails. There is no ad network on this desk.

Legal basis

Connect and the email login run on consent you give on this site. Scoring listed companies from public filings is the desk’s published research, not profiling of a private individual. You can refuse Connect and still use Search.

Automated scoring (GDPR)

Scores, MOS, sector weights, the portfolio snapshot, and the on-device Portfolio Copilot what-if are automated educational prints of two published gates (quality ≥ 70, and at least 30% below estimate). They do not approve a loan, execute a trade, or produce a legal or similarly significant effect about you. A what-if leaves names out of the screen — it does not sell them. You read the print. You decide. This is not automated decision-making under GDPR Article 22.

EU AI Act

The EU AI Act does not automatically treat every “AI for investments” screen as high-risk. This desk is an educational AI analysis tool with a disclosed score — not a broker and not an analyst. The Portfolio Copilot is an on-device reprint of those gates, not a language model and not a trading agent. It is not a credit-scoring, insurance-pricing, or employment system, and it does not place trades. It does not replace a licensed adviser. High-risk Annex III labels do not apply to this public two-gate screen as shipped.

Security and minimum access

• Transit is HTTPS.
• A Flex token is sent once to Interactive Brokers through our function, then dropped. It is not stored in the database, blobs, or this browser after the pull.
• The book file and the processing log sit in this browser unless you export them. The email-linked watchlist is stored as ticker symbols only.
• Minimum permission: open positions. Not a live trading session.

Your rights

• Disconnect brokerage — drops the book from this browser. The watchlist of tickers is not wiped by disconnect alone.
• Delete my desk data — clears the book, the watchlist, the email on this device, the processing log, and the email-linked list on the server.
• Access — the book and the log are on this device; you can read them on Portfolio.

Local book and log: until you disconnect, delete, or clear this browser. Email-linked tickers: until you delete desk data. Flex tokens: not retained.

Processors and written agreements

Hosting and transactional mail (when alerts are on) are infrastructure for this site. A firm, fund, or white-label seat that wants us to process data as their processor needs a written agreement — that is not this public page. Write to Contact.
